Found another "Internet Special" on reservetravel.com. Sometimes these beat the "Best Available" rate and sometimes they don't. I've stayed about 5 times at this all-suite hotel near Disneyland and the Anaheim Convention Center. Parking, though limited, is free. This find is for December and New Year's Eve as well. Great for taking that Disneyland trip with the kids. Each room is a suite with a sofa-sleeper for extra sleeping space. No tax was ever charged while I stayed there. They require a $50 credit card hold which is for incidentals and phone. I always left there never paying a dime! I found only the King Bed Suite Available right now.

Fourth of July in Orlando? Found this lower rate on tripres.com at a Days Inn walking distance to Universal Studios.
The lower rate is a "Standard" rate. When you click that link, it shows "1 King or 2 Doubles." Since both of the corresponding room types are higher on WR, they should grant the free night.

If they reject your claim because there isn't a certainty which of these room types you're actually getting, they shouldn't. Regardless of which type you get, WR rates for BOTH TYPES are higher! Persist if they give you this hassle! By the way, on the claim form in the comments section, make a note: "Please click the "standard room" link to view this room type as "2 doubles or 1 King." Bring it to their attention.

Wingate's are great, and completely covered under the Wyndham Rewards BRG (you can book refundable rates and still get a free room). However, for this BRG specifically, you must book non-refundable (but this is not a rule - it's just that the non-refundable Orbitz rate is cheaper than the Wingate's non-refundable rates. As always, YMMV. This one has very high ratings on Tripadvisor, and is a newly opened property (March 2008).

Here's one that has been alive and well on Expedia at a lower rate for the past year (at least!), and listed here multiple times on the blog. They just don't care to follow Best Available Rate protocol, and that's good for people like us who like our rooms for free. I've stayed here no less than 20-30 times, and never had any problems. This hotel won Property of the Year in 2000, and the breakfast includes biscuits and gravy, waffles, and fruit salad. It's a decent location too, right on Division and just a few blocks from I-90 (don't worry, noise isn't an issue).

Note that this is sometimes listed as Howard Johnson Downtown/Airport. That's a misnomer. This hotel is around 7 miles east of the airport, so it would be pushing it to say it's an airport property. They do have a shuttle, though, I believe.

At first, I thought this wouldn't work, since Kayak reports the cheaper site as Orbitz and Cheaptickets. Sometimes, these sites report rates in CAD, but this time, unfortunately, the quoted in USD. So, I looked at a couple sites that Kayak doesn't integrate with - Expedia and Travelocity. Expedia didn't have it, but Travelocity did. Hurry, as this may disappear at any time (Travelocity is probably the least stable site for rates out of them all).

Here's another I found on Reservetravel. It's a bed and breakfast rate that's cheaper than the WR non-breakfast rate. Should be good for those needing a short getaway with the family. Could also make a good basecamp for heading to Niagara Falls, a short 90 minutes away.

It just goes to show how unpredictable these BRGs are, and how the BRG claim staff will stop at nothing to try to find reasons why your claims should not be approved. Sorry to disappoint, but this one's dead. If you do get denied, try your luck at contacting a supervisor and talking logic - it very well may be approved (they're much more lenient than the claim staff and are willing to hear you out).

This one was found by reader Bavariagirl, who says she's been searching for a room in the Niagara Falls area for a very long time and finally stumbled on this VERY obscure BRG opportunity. I missed it, others missed it, so thanks Bavariagirl for taking the time to literally scour the internet to find this. Looks like a great opportunity, and Bavariagirl tells us her claims were approved with no problems.

This Hotel is listed as Niagara Falls/Buffalo Area on Travelocity. It is not listed as a Super 8, but it is a valid Super 8 property (it says it is Super 8 in the description). Please let your BRG agent know that they have to search for "Niagara Falls/Buffalo Area" as the HOTEL NAME. City should be Niagara Falls, New York.

Note that this is in (the relatively boring) side of Niagara Falls, in New York. It's not on the Canadian, touristy side.
